One of the best features of an electric cycle is the Pedal Assist System (PAS). Unlike a throttle where you just twist and go, PAS senses your pedaling and kicks in the motor to help you.
How it Works
A magnetic ring attached to your pedal crank communicates with a sensor. When you start pedaling, the controller sends power to the motor.
Single Level vs 5-Level PAS
- Single Level PAS: Provides a consistent boost whenever you pedal. Simple and effective for basic commuting.
- 5-Level PAS: The game changer. It connects to an LCD display allowing you to choose how much help you want (Level 1 for a little push, Level 5 for maximum speed). This is great for managing battery life.
