Maintenance is Key
An electric cycle is a robust machine, but like any vehicle, it needs love. Here are 5 simple checks to prevent 90% of issues.
1. Chain Lubrication βοΈ
Indian roads are dusty. Clean your chain with a rag and apply wet lube (for monsoon) or dry lube (for summer) every 150km. A dry chain wears out gears faster!
2. Tire Pressure π¨
Low pressure kills battery range! Keep your tires inflated to 40-50 PSI (check the sidewall). This reduces rolling resistance, giving you more km per charge.
3. Brake Pad Check π
E-bikes are heavier and faster, so brakes work harder. Check your pads monthly. If they are less than 1mm thick, replace them immediately. Safety first!
4. Bolt Tightening π§
Vibrations can loosen bolts over time. Once a month, do a "bolt check"βensure the axle nuts, handlebar stem, and crank bolts are tight.
5. Battery Care π
Keep the terminals clean and dry. If you're not riding for a month, charge the battery to 60% and store it in a cool place. Never store it empty!
