Versatile Power for Any Bike
Almost any bicycle can be converted into an electric one, but the approach varies depending on the bike type.
Mountain Bikes (MTB)
MTBs are the most popular candidates for conversion due to their sturdy frames and strong brakes (often disc brakes). Hub motors work well, but mid-drives are excellent for maintaining the bike's balance on trails.
Road Bikes
Road bikes require lightweight kits to maintain their speed agility. Small, geared hub motors are preferred to minimize drag. Ensure the frame dropout width is compatible, as road bikes often have narrower spacing.
Hybrid and City Bikes
These are ideal for commuting builds. Front hub motors are a common choice for city bikes as they are simple to install and provide all-wheel-drive capability if you pedal (rear wheel) while the motor powers the front.
